The Laprade lake is located 10 minutes away from the domaine, Montagnès lake with it's water activities, tree climbing park and mini golf are 15 minutes away and the Lampy basin at about twenty minutes.


Learn about medieval history in the walled City of Carcassonne

The cité of Carcassonne, a medieval ensemble unique in Europe, is the second most visited tourist site in France after Mont-Saint-Michel.
La Cité, a UNESCO World Heritage site, consists of a double enclosure, 52 towers and 2 concentric enclosures, 3 km of ramparts: the first enclosure dates from the Gallo-Roman period, the second from the XIth and XIIth centuries and finally, Viollet the Duke restored the whole in XIXème century.

Discover our local products at Farmers Markets

During summer we invite local farmers onsite to offer their products to our clients directly.

Several farmers markets are to discover nearby such as the famous Monday night farmer market ( july and august ) in Mazamet village, 25 minutes drive on scenic road, from 5 to 10pm shop the farmers directly terroir products and taste them by seating on the large tables in the center, enjoy live concerts. Good ambiance htere!

The nice and local carcassonne market takes place on tuesdays, thursdays and saturdays on the place Carnot in the center.

Have a boat tour on the Canal du Midi

Pierre-Paul Riquet created it in the 17th century to connect the Atlantic with the Mediterranean sea. The Canal du Midi, formerly used for the transport of goods and people, is now frequented by many boaters and tourists and crosses the heart of The City of Carcassonne.
Since 1996, the Canal du Midi has been classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO
Locks, bridges, aqueducts, canal bridges that run along the 240 km of waterway, testify both to technical mastery and to an impressive work of art.


Visit the Cathar castles

Born shortly after the Year 1000, Catharism is a religious movement which was concentrated in the Midi of France, especially in Midi-Pyrenees REGION. The region was their refuge when the Church persecuted them.
Lastours site is located at 10 minutes by car of the domain, it constitutes an exceptional ensemble in the heart of the Montagne Noire, with its four castles built at the top of a rocky spur. Cabaret (the most imposing), Surdespine, Quertinheux and Régine tower dominate the Orbiel and Grézilhou rivers, deeply encased in the valley.

Explore Caves

The GIANT GOUFFRE DE CABRESPINE is located 30 minutes from the Domaine. The patient water work has been digging, a huge cave for thousands of years.. You will visit the Giant Gouffre in peace and quiet from a walkway in a belvedere. The decor and the play of light make it an exceptional site.
Moreover, the Cabrespine gouffre has acquired an international reputation.since its discovery in 1968. . This immense network of more than 25 km has become a "classic of speleology".

LA GROTTE DE LIMOUSIS is  located 20 minutes from the Domaine, It is the largest cave in the region. It has 8 rooms and a succession of 5 stalagmitic barriers, with a very abundant concretion.

Go Horse riding

La Goutarende Equestrian Center located 5 minutes from the Domaine welcomes you in a friendly atmosphere. Come and practice the sporting discipline of your choice, whether it is an equestrian one (dressage, jumping, cross-country, CTR or TREC in French) or a forest themed walk, a swimming outing in nearby lakes, a full moon outing....), or a day hike. Rental of shetlands for rides with small children available.

Canoe-Kayak,canyoning, rafting, speleology and more outdoor sports

Canoe-kayak rental (with a guide from 5 people)): choice between canoeing or kayaking to dawdle along the Aude river.
Canyoning: several levels of difficulty are proposed in the heart of our most spectacular sites. Let yourself be guided. Equipped with a wetsuit,  slip, jump, swim in the Gorges de Galamus, the canyon of Termes ...

Discover and taste the Cabardes, Minervois and Corbieres Vineyards

The AOC Cabardès is an amphitheater leaned against the Montagne Noire which dominates Carcassonne city. This wine appellation covers 450 hectares. The vines are oriented south, on a long slope irrigated by six rivers. The vineyard produces about 29 600 hectoliters of wine per year.

The Mediterranean climate characterize wines on this terroir, soils are composed of so-called Ventenac limestones and calcareous alveoline silts.
The wines of the Cabardès AOC are vinified from an association of Grenache, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon. They allow to develop wines that combine elegance of oceanic vineyards and fruit taste of sun wines. These wines are intense and taste rich with tannins that are present but are also very delicate.

The Minervois vineyard is one of the largest in Languedoc Roussillon. On nearly 15 000 ha of vines, 5 000 ha are destined for the production of AOC wines, the very wide palette of table wines, countries and grape varieties is complemented by three distinct AOCs: the AOC Minervois, 'AOC Minervois - The Livinière and the Muscat of Saint Jean de Minervois.

The AOC Corbières extends from Carcassonne city gates to Leucate and Narbonne ponds, from the foothills of the Pyrenees to the foot of the Montagne Noire, on an area of ​​11,800 hectares. It is the Languedoc appellation with the largest area. It produces about 550 000 hectoliters per year on very diversified soils: schist, sandstone, limestone, marls. The climate here is dominated by the Mediterranean influence, which is found in a typical vegetation of scrubland. The more western soils are subject to oceanic influences.Several grape varieties are used in the production of red and rosé wines. AOC Corbières: carignan, grenache noir, cinsault, syrah and mourvèdre. White wines come from Grenache Blanc and Maccabeu varieties.The red Corbières wines are fleshy, elegant and have good potential for keeping. They are also characterized by complex aromas of roasting, especially on the oriental terroirs which ensure a great ripeness to the grapes by the exceptional Mediterranean sunshine and the dry summers. The wines of the AOC Corbières declined in white are defined as ample and balanced, exotic fruits aromas. The rosés are light and fruity.
